Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of TapRemote, an iPhone app made by Cybercodex. By using the app you agree to them and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
What the app does
TapRemote controls compatible smart TVs and streaming players over your home Wi-Fi. Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same network, and some TVs need a setting turned on (for example network standby or control by mobile apps). Which features work depends on the TV's make, model and software, which TV makers can change at any time. The app cannot use infrared, so it does not work with TVs that have no network connection. Check that the free remote works with your TV before you subscribe.
TapRemote is not made, affiliated with or endorsed by any TV or streaming company. Brand names are used only to say which TVs the app works with.
Premium
- Premium is sold through the App Store as an auto-renewing subscription (weekly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price and period are shown before you buy and in the App Store.
- A free trial, when offered, is shown on the subscription screen with what is charged after it. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the trial ends if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before.
- A subscription renews automatically unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. It stays active until the end of the period already paid.
- Restore earlier purchases on a new iPhone from the app's Settings → Restore purchases.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy.
- The remote's basic buttons (power, volume, mute, arrows, OK, back, home) stay free. What Premium includes is described on the subscription screen.
Your responsibility
Use the app only with TVs you own or are allowed to control. Do not use it to disturb other people's devices or to break the law.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Cybercodex is not liable for a TV that does not respond, for settings changed on a TV, or for any indirect loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
